A young driver died after a passenger train crashed into a car at an intersection in east Brisbane.
The woman in her twenties was behind the wheel of the car and bystanders had to pull her out before paramedics arrived .
Aerial photos from 7NEWS show the badly damaged red vehicle, with more dirt sitting under the front of the train.
Emergency crews were called to Wynnum West at around 1.40 p.m. after the vehicle collided with the express passenger train.
Due to the crash, trains on the Cleveland line between Murarrie and Cleveland were suspended, with delays of up to 60 minutes.
The level crossing has a tragic history and in 2019 a pedestrian was killed while crossing the tracks.
