A popular aerosol sunscreen is being recalled after several products, including sunscreens for children, were found to contain a carcinogenic substance.
The Banana Boat products were recalled Thursday by the Therapeutic Goods Administration pronounced after unexpected benzene concentrations were found in four batches.
Benzene is a human carcinogen which, depending on the level and extent of exposure, can cause cancer.
All batches with an expiration date of January 31, 2024 or earlier should not be used due to possible health risks related to benzene.
