After Rajasthan refused to take a single ball off the penultimate ball with Chris Morris at the other end of the chase, he needed it five runs to win the final ball. Samson, facing the final ball after declining that single, then attempted a loft shot over a wide long-off, where he eventually found Deepak Hooda with the catch, sealing the victory for PBKS.
