Weltnachrichten – AU – Three St Helens players in the Super League Dream Team

. . Seven players make their first appearance in the 2020 Betfred Super League Dream Team.

. .

Wigan Warriors magician Bevan French, top of the season stats for duel busts and clean breaks and runner-up for attempts scored, is complemented by the Salford Red Devils winger Krisnan Inu and the Warrington Wolves pair from Center Toby King, who finished the season at the top of the offload charts, and Prop Mike Cooper, who made his first appearance in a stellar 14-year career.

Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel nominees Aidan Sezer and Paul McShane are also making their first appearance, as is Wakefield Trinity on the second row Kelepi Tanginoa.

Morgan Knowles from Saints, Ash Handley from Leeds Rhinos and Konrad Hurrell, team-mate of the club, backed up their 2019 selection with beautiful seasons. Handley finished 2020 as the top scorer and top scorer.

Warrior’s second row Liam Farrell makes his third appearance on the Dream Team after an impressive campaign. Farrell made the second highest number of clean breaks and bears in the competition; He was also third for tackles and meters gained and fourth for clean breaks and tackling busts.

Saints Prop Alex Walmsley makes his second appearance on the Dream Team. His first was in 2015. Earlier this season, Walmsley set a record for earning Man of Steel points in six consecutive games.

Walmsley’s half-back Jonny Lomax, who first appeared in 2018 before narrowly missing out on Blake Austin and Jackson Hastings last year, is returning to the team in 2020. Nobody has more experimental assistants this season than Lomax.

Steve Robinson, MBE Man of Steel panelist Jason Robinson, said, “It is to the credit of the players and the competition that so many different Super League teams are represented in this year’s Dream Team.

« A good barometer is sometimes to look at the strength of the list of players who missed it, and there are some wonderful talents out there that are just outside that top 13.

« I really enjoyed that some of the young players in the game are so well adapted to first-team life and there are others who are a little older who have really made a name for themselves in the Super League – I think Ash Handley and Toby King are good examples of this.

“There are also a number of players who have defended their position on the Dream Team since last year and have shown impeccable consistency in their playing skills.

« There have been so many good performances throughout the season – but if I had to pick one player from the games I judged, I would say that Liam Farrell was an outstanding player for Wigan Warriors all season.

« In both offense and defense he was Mr.. Dependable with a consistently strong work ethic as its stats show, especially tackles and carry. ”
