Former Blue Heelers star Ditch Davey is set to join the cast of Home and Away.

The 45-year-old actor, who will play neurosurgeon Dr Christian Green, was last week spotted filming scenes with co-star Penny McNamee, who plays Dr Tori Morgan.

The pair, who portray love interests on the show, appeared to share a tense conversation while filming a scene in Sydney’s Palm Beach.

As they rehearsed their heated discussion, Penny took off her jacket and held it in the crook of her arm.

It was then time to film the scene, at which point she put her jacket back on. Later, she and Ditch turned to their director for notes.

Ditch told Digital Spy in June that he was thrilled to be part of the long-running drama.

‘Home and Away has been such an institution to audiences in both Australia and the UK for such a long time and it’s great to be a part of that now, but the people are what it’s all about,’ he said.

Aside from Blue Heelers, he has also appeared in Black Box, Underbelly, Spartacus and 800 Words. Most recently, he has portrayed Julius Caesar in the Netflix series Roman Empire.

Ditch is married to actress Sophia Davey (née Dunn), who has starred in several films and theatre productions across Australia.
