NBC Days of our Lives spoilers reveal Salem is developing one of the strangest soap friendships in Salem. It’s between lawbreaker Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) and law enforcement agency Lani Price (Sal Stowers). What do these two very different women have in common? Not much outside of the nunnery. That’s right, you read that right, these two joined when they were consecrated into the church.
The action took place off-screen during the lost year. At this point the show jumped a year forward and there were all sorts of gimmicks going on that we are still hearing about. Like Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) who slept with Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) while his wife Jennifer Devereaux (Cady McClain) was in a coma!
Lani’s husband and co-cop Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) can’t imagine why in the world Lani risked a lot to be friends with a criminal half the city hated. Yet they are BFFs who turn their backs on each other no matter what.
Right now, Kristen is back in jail for Lani. Not because Lani brought her there, but because she left willingly so that Lani doesn’t have to.
Sal recently spoke to Soap Opera Digest about this situation. The reality is that Eli blackmailed Kristen and Lani just found out about it. Lani threw Eli out of the house and then went to her friend. Sal says the emotions were high, but Kristen surprised her with what she said.
According to Sal, Kristen Lani just turns everything around and says, « Don’t let me sacrifice everything for you to throw away your entire marriage and family. ”
In other words, Kristen’s bum fed her friend a tough reality check. Sal says both characters are unhappy, but Lani can get happy at Kristen’s expense. This creates conflicting emotions within her and she wants to be happy and raise her twins with Eli, but at the same time she feels hugely guilty. What will Lani do after Kristen drops a truth bomb on her? Will she take her friend’s advice or be stubborn and keep Eli away from her life?
