Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11:28 a.m.

Jamie Laing made his return to Strictly Come Dancing on October 24 as live broadcasts began

But unfortunately for the Made In Chelsea star, his comeback did not go as smoothly as he might have liked, with Laing finding himself at the bottom of the Strictly Come Dancing rankings following a disappointing judges score

It comes after Jamie had to withdraw from competition last year due to a leg injury The reality show debut was replaced by Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher who won victory with Oti Mabuse This time, Jamie is in partnership with Karen Hauer

The TV star still has week two to try to impress the judges of Strictly Come Dancing, as the scores from week one and week two will be combined, after which the audience will vote for their favorite

Jamie is determined to win Glitterball this year Speaking to RadioTimescom, he said, « So the diplomatic response is, ‘Oh yeah, I don’t mind’ but I really want to win! » he admitted, « I think while it’s a wonderful show to be a part of and you can dance everyday and learn a new talent, I’m very competitive and I’m sure a lot of other contenders are too, and you want to earn it! «

He will have to work very hard in the second week, as he is currently at the bottom of the table with 14 points

The other contestants fared much better than him, with YouTube star HRVY leading the table with 25 points and EastEnders actress Maisie Smith just behind him with 24 points

Jamie was warned of how Strictly Come Dancing is by previous contestants, who told him, « If you think it’s difficult, trust me, you don’t know how hard! »

« Here we are again, I hope this time I can last long enough for my mom to see me dance, » he said at the time

« The reason I’m doing this is to make my mom proud, but all I did last year was make her even more disappointed Let’s change that this year, we can’t not wait !! «

It comes after his company Candy Kittens revealed he will be making an announcement on the show

« Tune in to @thismorning today, because our own @JamieLaing_UK has an ad This is not an album That’s all » The post read

Last year Jamie revealed he had a little dance experience before the 2019 series

Explaining to viewers that he has « a bit of a beat, » Laing revealed that he took a contemporary dance class while studying at Leeds University

Following the news, Laing said, “I am absolutely devastated that I couldn’t continue in the competition, I was so excited to get on the dance floor! I wish the lovely couples all the best and hope they make the most of their time on the show »

This was the first time in contestant show history that a celebrity was forced to withdraw from the competition even before the live broadcasts beganHowever, Strictly is known to be quite intense and has seen celebrities hurt themselves over the years and quit as a result.

In 2009, British long jumper Jade Johnson left the series in 2009 after suffering a rehearsal knee injury – which also saw her drop out of the London 2012 Olympics
