The NSW government’s customer service app stopped working for several hours on Thursday, preventing people from checking in at locations for COVID-19 contact tracing.
It’s the second time this year that the Service NSW app and its COVID-safe check-in function crashed.
People complained on social media that the app didn’t work around 2pm on Thursday.
« We We are aware of an issue affecting several Service NSW transactions and services. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, « tweeted a Service NSW account.
As of January 1, venues like restaurants and cafes only have to use the Service NSW app to make check-in easier.
The government announced last week that around three-quarters of the NSW population had downloaded the app.
