Gordon’s Christmas special, Gino & Fred, aired tonight – and it didn’t disappoint!
Gordon, Gino and Fred: Desperate for Santa Claus, the culinary trio – Gordon Ramsay, Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix – got back together for a fun festive adventure, and this time they set off Road to Lapland to meet Santa Claus.
But there was one moment in particular that the audience couldn’t stop laughing – Gino was being dragged through the snow by a reindeer. Really!
The hilarious moment came halfway through the episode and fans immediately went to Twitter and howled at the chef.
Although Gino was being dragged through Lapland by a reindeer, he had a very important task – delivering a letter from his daughter Mia to Santa Claus.
In addition to meeting up with Santa Claus, the trio also tried a traditional Finnish sauna, where Gino glanced at the audience as he whipped a borat-style mini kini in freezing temperatures, and dined indigenous Sami on reindeer meat on Lapland.
The special aired just days after ITV announced it had commissioned three more years of the popular show.
The two new series (each with eight-hour episodes) will air in 2022 and 2023, and there are two Christmas specials each year.
These follow a third series that has already been commissioned and a Christmas special that will be broadcast in 2021.
When talking about the news, Gordon said: « Three more years with Gino and Fred, are you kidding me?
« Just kidding. Who would have thought that if we went to Italy in the summer of 2018, I would find friends for life in Gino and Fred?
« We have already shared some incredible adventures, fantastic food, and lots of fun disasters and pranks as we’ve toured Europe, America, and Lapland this winter, and I can’t wait to do it again and again again! »
Meanwhile, Gino said, « I’m really excited to be doing more fantastic shows with my friends as this program becomes seriously global. «
And Fred added, « I can’t wait to get back on the road with my two friends. The party will never end! »
